AutoCAD in Product Design Suite Ultimate 2016

Just installed Autodesk Product Design Suite Ultimate 2016 and can't open standard AutoCAD. When i go to the program files and open the acad.exe it opens up Mechanical instead. Is there a way to open up standard AutoCAD?

there should be an Autocad icon under the Autocad Mechanical folder in your start menu

@Anonymous Just change your workspace setting. That's what I do.

Darren,

I attached a screen shot of what was in the folder.  I noticed that it says AutoCAD 2016 English - AutoCAD Mechanical, like its still pointing to Mechanical.

I'm I missing something? Do i have to change a setting?

Thanks for the response.

Here's another screen shot of the folder structure before entering into AutoCAD Mechanical folder. Its not showing up. Did I do something wrong at time of installation?

Expand the AutoCAD Electrical or the AutoCAD Raster Design.

Somewhere in there you should have a link to Run as AutoCAD.

If not, then someone will walk you through creating a desktop icon for starting as vanilla AutoCAD (a search might be faster).

the shortcut you show in the 1st screenshot you provided is the correct icon to use to launch just plain AutoCAD. HTH

Do I change the target on the desptop icon to say <<VINALLA>> instead of <<ACADMPP>>?

I just wanted straight AutoCAD to run. I do have a different workspace already.

Thanks.
