AutoCAD Core Console

Hi, I'm using Autocad MAC LT. But considering Autocad MAC Full version or the Autocad PC Full version, so that can get more into the LISP / Scrips/ automation etc. 

I saw a reference to the AutoCAD Core console which seems to kind of do these things as a standalone. 

- Are there any useful resources for the core console? 

- Is it free or paid software? 

- Does it work on MAC or only Windows?

If we get the MAC full version and run the Core Console alongside would this work, or do they do the same thing? 

Can i Run the Core-console without AutoCAD open? or does it require it open / any other limitations?

It is not free, its part of autocad. 

Autocad does not have to be open in order for it to run and it can be ran in parallel to autocad. 

Limitation might include available commands (see Keans list of command that return in coreconsole) 

There were some crashing issues a few releases back but i never experienced them and it looks like 17 addressed them.
