AutoCAD Architecture 2025 Initial interface setup

Hello,

earlier in the year, using a Youtube video, I set up my AutoCad Architecture 2025 with different tabs, etc. I had 3 different "Home" tabs. One as the standard AutoCAD options... a second with the AutoCad Architecture options, Windows, doors, walls, etc...

I had to uninstall a few programs and reinstall them again, AutoCAD being one of them... but now I can't find the video of how I turned on all the different Tabs.

I have attached an image... and as you can see there's only one "Home" tab in the drop down menu... but before the was 3... and also many many more to chose from. How do I get access again to them?

Thank you.

Right clic the arrow drop down in the Quick acces tool barre and and chose Customise...tool barre.

In the now appeard CUI editor, go in the top tab Customise in all drawingthen Ribbon and then Tabs
There you'll be able to customise selected tabs by right cliccing and add/delete subtabs.

Note that from this UCI editor, all User interfaces from the software can be customise.

Thanks for that... but in Tabs there is only one "Home" tab available now... (The AutoCAD Architecture Home Tab).

Before I could chose from 3 different Home Tabs.. One of the Home tabs was the traditional AutoCAD Home Tab as well

In my Workspaces there is only Architecture available? Might that have something to do with it?

Basicaly we are at the right place. This CUI pannel is were everything happen. And more precisly i think you have a Workspace issue.

You possibly changed your workspace by accident, and that's why the home tabs disapired. We'll just change from Workspaces

Or  we will have to customise a Workspace throught the CUI pannel and add the desired Home tabs

Send my a screenshot of your entire autocad window so that I can better help you.

In the mean time, this youtube video could help you deal with Workspaces and tabs management and customisation ;  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YarGZLdOSvw

"You possibly changed your workspace by accident, and that's why the home tabs disapired. We'll just change from Workspaces"

At the moment I can only see an "Architecture" workspace in the dropdown options of "Workspaces".

Just for reference, I uninstalled AutoCAD Architecture to solve this problem... https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-Exception-in...

Reinstalling it didn't solve it the problem, only solution 2 (renaming a file) seemed to do that... but then I was left with all my previous setup/layout lost... and here I am now.

Yeah there one and only Workspace. So 1 can't be the issue. If this current Worksapce doesn't propose what you search for, means you lost your previous workspace setups by reinstalling Autocad. We'll have to go with solution 2 to recreat them

Let's go with solution 2 and creat a customized new Workspace with the desired tabs.

To do so;
From the CUI pannel, right clic the existing Workspace and creat a new one. Selecte this newly created workspace. On the bottom right corner clic the arrow, then, on the top on the newly appear part of the pannel, clic the ''customize'' button.

From there, on the left side on the CUI pannel, check the desired tabs. Apply modification. Press ok

Back in your Autocad Workspace window, selecte the new Workspace. If not displayed, You should be able to make appear selected tabs on your ribbon by doing thr same inputs shown on your first screenshot

Found back your setup ?

@mccauleyeamonnE8QMU In AUTOCAD-ARCHITECTURE you have to pre-load the plain AutoCAD CUIx file first in order to add it's HOME tab to your ARCH2025 workspace.

Had you inquired in the dedicated ARCHITECTURE forum someone that uses the same program as you would guide you to doing what you want with more ease.

Do you want me to ask the forum admins to move your post there? Or do you wish to continue over here?

Yeah maybe it more proper to the ARCHITECTURE forum?? Whatever you think is best.

I'm happy to stay here if someone knows how to help me pre-load the plain AutoCAD CUIx file.

Yeah, my problem is, where I select the tabs I want, there isn't the Home tabs from AutoCAD... This "pre-load the plain AutoCAD CUIx file" sounds promising.

The question is now... Where do I find the AutoCAD CUIx file? If I can find that, I should be able to transfer it.

I'm not aware of differences between full Autocad and Autocad-Architecture. CUi cutosmization shoulf work the same. But seems to be differences in the checkable tabs

If I summerize it right, a .cuix is basicaly a presetted CUI customizisation. Instead of doing it mannually on your own throught CUI pannel, you import this  .cuix and it appears. Basically someone makes for you the customized .cuix and you just import.

My explaination were in order to do it on your own. But if the .cuix way suits you best. Go for it. Make sur to import the right one. And back up yourself and know how to undo the import. Could be handy

Note; This screenshot of my last reply refers many Home and Insert tabs. Are those the one you look for ? Can make the .cuix on the spot @mccauleyeamonnE8QMU

"This screenshot of my last reply refers many Home and Insert tabs. Are those the one you look for ? "

Yes those are the Tabs (Droids) I'm looking for. My problem is they are only available in the AutoCAD workspaces... and not the AutoCAD architecture workspace. (I can't seem to find them within the AutoCAD architecture workspace).

I was thinking though... If I change my AutoCAD Architecture active profile to the standard AutoCAD active profile... then I can see and select all the Home Tabs for making the .cuix file? I can then save that AutoCAD profile .cuix file and import it back to my AutoCAD Architecture active profile?? Does that make sense?

Please see attached an image for what I mean about changing over to a AutoCAD Architecture active profile to make the .cuix file.

Thanks everyone, I've got it all back.

It was more a case of only ever using programs and not exploring the files, etc... and all the possibilities... At least I learnt some things.
