AutoCAD application icon not showing when attempting to open file from Windows Explorer

Hi Guys,

any ideas why my auto-cad drawing is not showing the dwg icon in file browser. see attached. I am running windows 10 and office 365

Hi,

try  right click >> Properties >> General tab >> open with ( select AutoCAD application ) .

Hi Imad,

i had already tried that, see first image below, it shows the logo but not on my files in explorer, when I go to change (see second image) not many choices and the autocad cad one doesn't work either

  1. In Windows Explorer, right-click a DWG file and choose Open With > Choose another app (or Open With > Choose default program in older Windows systems).
  2. In the next window, select "AutoCAD DWG Launcher."
  3. Select the checkbox for "Always use this app to open . ...
  4. Click OK.

Changing the default app from the context menu didn't work for me but doing the same  from Windows Settings > Aplicactios > Default Apps sorted out the issue.
