AutoCAD 2025 - turn off Quick Properties

Can anyone suggest why Quick Properties keep popping up, even when QPMODE = -1 (QPMODE is set to -1 in my  acaddoc.lsp)

The way I have things set up, I always have the full Properties palette open on a second monitor, so repeatedly closing the Quick Properties palette is a nuisance.

QPMODE is stored in the Registry so there is no need to set it in ACADDOC.LSP. Maybe try the value 0. But QPROPs may be also invoked by Ctrl+Shift+P, or by double-clicking the object (as preset in your CUI), or though some add-on.

You may need to check your CAD environment from any plugins or lisp that change QPMODE value.

  • Turn off Quick Properties in Drafting Settings:
    1. On the command line in AutoCAD, enter DSETTINGS.
    2. Click the Quick Properties tab.
    3. Select the "Display the Quick Properties Palette on selection" checkbox.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Press CTRL+SHIFT+P to toggle Quick Properties on and off.

Set QPMODE = 0 and also turn off ROLLOVERTIPS = 0 – that usually stops the popups for good. Add both vars to SYSVARMONITOR so AutoCAD warns you if something switches them back on. If you never use Quick Properties, just hide its toggle from the status bar so you don’t click it by mistake.
