AutoCAD 2025 Text issue

I have been testing AutoCAD 2025 and noticed that many of the standard Windows true-type fonts do not display correctly. This version of the software supposedly improved fonts for this release, so I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.  in the images, you can see that the fonts display differently between 2024 and 2025.

Here is how to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:

I have had a different problem with TT fonts in 2025, which I brought up on this forum.

This one however, works ok for me. The font Freestyle Script looks the same in my 2024 and 2025. Both look like your 2024.

Lot of users on here like sdvannelli who have both 2024 & 2025 and Windows Office installed. Why not just attach a small drawing of just that MTEXT so one of them can check for you?

That Windows font comes with Office installed so it should work if both those images were from the same PC.

Run this in AutoCAD2025, likely you have video card compatibility issues https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2025/ENU/?guid=GUID-14929CF2-8E39-4F87-B8C2-18440B12922E

I ran the diagnostic, and everything came back good( see image). However, if I disable hardware acceleration, then the text will display as it should.

Here is how to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help, looks like 2025 was has quirks and bugs that are odd to say the least:

I already submitted a support case, but I posted here to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issue.

Many early adopters/end-user appear to be reporting similar issues with the 2025s in these forums.

Hi @dmiller_SCE, I can't reproduce the issue in my machine with AutoCAD 2025 and Freetype Script Font.

Could you share the font file for investigation?

The workaround is to switch to "Intermediate Mode" in GRAPHICSCONFIG dialog then quit and restart AutoCAD.

Sorry for the issue.

@james.jinan.xue I don't think the font file is the issue, as multiple fonts are affected. I only used freestyle script in this example, but many fonts do not display correctly. Also, I can use the Same AutoCAD file opened in AutoCAD 2024, and the text appears correctly. However, as requested, I have attached the requested font and example CAD files.

@dmiller_SCE , Thanks for sharing the font and example drawing.

I just tried it with the drawing. It looks fine in my machine.

Sorry for asking more questions since I try to find the cause of the issue.

You mentioned "multiple fonts are affected", so are there any TrueType fonts displayed correctly?

If there are, are they installed in the same location as those affected?

In my machine, the TrueType fonts are in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts\".

Could you check them in your Registry Editor. The path is "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts"

Following image shows the information of "Freestyle Script" font in my machine:

Could you share a similar screenshot with us?

@james.jinan.xue, yes, multiple installed fonts do not show properly. I have verified that the fonts are installed properly, and again, other versions of CAD do not have this issue.  Also, please note that I have created a support case with Autodesk but haven't received a reply yet—support case ID 22151795.

We are all end users like you, no one here can look up your support ID number.

Until you hear back from Autodesk...  The workaround is to switch to "Intermediate Mode" in GRAPHICSCONFIG dialog then quit and restart AutoCAD.

@pendean, I am aware of the workaround. I only provided additional info as others requested. I also posted the service ID just in case Autodesk personnel happen to be lurking around :). I do appreciate the help you provided on this issue, though. Currently, I am just sticking with AutoCAD 2024 until this is resolved. It also appears others are experiencing similar problems.

That does seem to be an unfortunate reality: thanks for the feedback.

As mentioned earlier, try GRAPHICSCONFIG and choose intermediate grapic accelerator or even better tick of the box about fonts below the lever och graphic accelerator (autocad 2025), it worked fine for me.
