Saving a drawing created in AutoCAD 2022 with AutoCAD 2023 (both were saved as 2018 format).
Users with AutoCAD 2022 cannot edit or update the viewbase views.
Clicking on the viewbase get a warning...
"Unable to perform the requested action. This drawing was last edited with model documentation in a newer version of AutoCAD.”
Anyone else having this problem or have a solution. Assuming this is a bug since they are both saved in the same format.
Have been using the -exportoautocad command and recreating the viewbase views in AutoCAD 2022.
Hope there is a solution or hotfix for this problem.

Looks like R2023 changed a few things.

Autodesk has provided direction to solve the problem.
Basically the instructions lead you to replace the viewbase views created in the newer AutoCAD version in a new drawing.
Have tested an AutoCAD 2022 drawing and have had the same issue trying to edit in AutoCAD 2019 with the same results.
Therefore have come to the conclusion that Viewbase is not backward compatible across AutoCAD versions (all saving to 2018 format)
Have contacted Autodesk again to confirm. Will let you know.
Thanks Jaimie ... created viewbase with AutoCAD 2024, saved as dxf, opened in AutoCAD 2019 and although you can see the drawing views, they could not be changed (for example, could not change scale)
