AutoCad 2020 External Reference Palette is Missing Transparency option. This was available in 2019 and seems to be missing or am I missing something?

I have always accessed by right clicking on the palette window bar and selecting transparency is there another method? Layers Palette, new blocks palette and properties all are still available.

It is available in mine. Make sure PALETTEOPAQUE is set to 0.

Or try Resetting the CUI if that is OK with you : How to reset the CUIx in AutoCAD

Hi,

>> External Reference Palette is Missing Transparency

Here you find a screenshot with external reference palette, on the left side 2020, on the right side 2019 ... where do I miss the difference? And where do you see a transparency setting in 2019?

PALETTEOPAQUE is set to 0 and I reset cui to installed state with no change.

I usually don't migrate settings when installing, in this case I did.

Hi,

>> Here is a pic of mine missing

Thank you for clarifying this!

And sorry to say, I don't have that (right click) option "transparency" in 2020, but I also don't have it in 2019.1.2.

And I can confirm, that e.g. the layer manager palette shows this option.

But I have no idea how to get it transparent.

Sorry, - alfred -

I too do not have it in R2020 nor R2019.1.2 versions of AutoCAD: looks like it got taken away an update or two ago in R2019.

Hi,

Are you on Windows 7 or 10

Are you on a monitor with 1920x1080 or higher?

I'm on Windows 10 (1803) with a resolution higher than 1920x1080 (2560x1440)

@pendean how's your setting?

Hi,

@pendean thx!

@S.Faris is your Windows 10 also supplied with update 1803?

But all sounds quite similar, so I have not really an idea why we have so different results.

Just incase if it helps

I'm on a clean install and not using any migrated settings from previous versions, on both 2020 and 2019.1.2.

Windows 10 1809

Its the same in 2019.1.2, no option available. I was running a different workspace recently and didn't notice it. Pretty sure it was available in original 2019.

So am I able to set it transparent some other place? By command?

Hi,

>> Its the same in 2019.1.2, no option available.

Well, as far as I can see @S.Faris is the only one having this option available, no one else has it.

And we all have mixed environments, Windows 10 1803 and 1809, Resolution of some Full HD, some > Full HD, ...

I can't see now anything to make this easy to identify.

>> So am I able to set it transparent some other place? By command?

No, not by command, I guess registry is the only position you might be able to find this.

Cranked up R2017 to check, it appears you remember something else somewhere else most likely
