Hi @ruhan.louw,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Please start Task Manager and keep an eye on what is running in the background when you have AutoCAD up.  I am curious if Acwebbrowser or Chromium Host Processes are launching numerous times and running the CPU at full throttle.

Hi @john.vellek

Ive kept my eye on the task manager and closed all unnecessary processes running in the background and it seems to be working. I will just have to work slowly on the program. I did try to change some settings in the CUI and when I pressed apply it caused my pc to restart again. I am able to work on the program again but cant change any CUI settings. Any suggestions for that problem?

Thanks

HI @ruhan.louw,

This actually sounds like a corrupt installation of AutoCAD.  has it been running until just recently or is this basically a new install?

Here is an article that details that it might be necessary to perform a clean reinstall.

Hi,

>> This actually sounds like a corrupt installation of AutoCAD.

To be honest, I don't think so. If AutoCAD crashes ok, that might be a bad installation. But if the system restarts itself when AutoCAD crashes, that is a hardware or driver issue.

@ruhan.louw

You might look for stress tests, heating up processor as well as graphic card unit + memory and see if the same happens.

Also look to the Windows Event Viewer and see if that has some useful input about the reasons of crashing the workstation.

Hi @ruhan.louw,

I have tried to look up the specs on your laptop but there are several variations.  I suspect that the hardware does not meet the system requirements.  Can you verify that for me?

Take your laptop to a PC service center and demonstrate the problem since it seems to only take 5-10 minutes to trigger: they will be best at providing you with a diagnosis.
