AutoCAD 2016 - screen artifacts after file> open

When opening an existing file in AutoCAD 2016 with the File> Open dialog, I almost always get a screen artifact, or partial image from the file path list that will not go away, and is then present in other programs, like IE. This occurs on computers with different video cards. Is this a bug that needs to be addressed?

Sounds like the same problem as this person has.

Are your machines also running non-supported display adapters?

Turn off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables.
If you still see issues, start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and turn off even more settings.

ALso see if Autodesk has a dedicated driver for your video card/OS/AutoCAD here http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?siteID=123112&id=18844534

The card I am using is a NVIDIA Quadro FX 580. It was not certified in 2015, but has the certified badge on the Graphics Performance dialog in 2016. I will try turning hardware acceleration off, or LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING as described by pendean. Thx

The current certified hardware page for the FX580 for Win7x64 and Win8.1x64 references driver version 341.21.

Are you running this version?

I was running 332.76. Win update said it was current, but NVIDIA site had version 341.61.
So far so good. Thx
