Right Click Context Menu Disappeared

Civil 3D on Win7 here.

Right click context menu is gone. nothing happens whatsoever when I right click after having selected an object. it is set to SHORTCUT menu in Options.

It works for repeating last command when nothing selected, and as ENTER for command in progress, just as I specified in Options.

any thoughts?

THANKS

Did it ever work the way you want? If yes, what changed recently?
If you click on the RIGHT CLICK CUSTOMIZATION button in OPTIONS' User Pref Tab, what settings do you have selected here? Most inportantly are the topmost box (checked or not) and the bottom most 'command mode' section.

Yes, it worked before. I do not know what changed in the operating environment. IT may have installed an OS update, I may have installed a utility software. No big changes were made to C3D. I tried to repair and reinstall after this stopped working, but it did nothing.

As stated in my original post in Options (right click customization), I have SHORTCUT menu set if an object is selected. Also stated, if not explicitly, in the original post are the other two settings, Repeat Last Command (Default Mode) and ENTER (Command Mode). The top most box - Turn on time-sensitive right-click - is unchecked.

I've used the software for many years and these have always been my settings. The most pertinent fact I gave in my original post is that nothing at all happens when I right click with an object selected. Nothing.

thanks for your input.

Have you tried unchecking the setting you want in options, hitting okay, then going back into options and rechecking it?  I have found that AutoCAD seemingly randomly loses some settings from time to time, even though it still reports the correct setting.

thanks.

I changed every setting int the dialog to give it a good poke. the right-click when object selected went to Repeat Last Command. It worked. Setting it back to Shortcut Menu made it go back to Nothing Happens At All.

I have a feeling this is one of those inexplicable things, but thought I'd ask. I'm due to get a new machine soon and hope the new install solves this and a few other issues I've been having.

Did you get a new mouse? Or do you need a new mouse?

Does restarting your PC (thus forcing you to restart AutoCAD) fix the problem?

Here are my settings that have always worked:

NEW MOUSE, IT IS THE SAME MOUSE AS i'VE USED SINCE c3d WAS INSTALLED. Ooops, sorry, in production. Restart does nothing for me.

My settings, top to bottom, are Repeat, Shortcut and Enter - I've always used these.

PICKFIRST=1.

Thanks again. I think I live with it for now. I can pick my C3D objects in the "Prospector" tree and right-click them there to manipulate them.

hakan,

thanks. I think my CUIx is hosed up somehow. I've had odd behavcior since I installed the product. I have no options to customize the Mouse at all - the only thing that show up when I right click Mouse is Find & Replace. If I try to customize my current Workspace Mouse disappears from the list of things I can customize. I am due to get a new machine - I think I have to live with it until I can get a clean install.

thanks, david
