AutoCAD 2016 round corners become right angles

Hi,

I recently got AutoCAD 2016.

Now I'm opening an older file and all the round corners are right angles.

Even textlines are unreadable. I've got a screenshot as attachment.

Is there a way to get this undone?

im not exactly sure i know the solution to your problem but i have some ideas that might help track it down. Where there any errors or messages when you opened the file? anything about missing shx files? if you dont remember seeing anything some time you can see the message in the command history by hitting 'F2.'

As far as the round corners: if you zoom in and type 'REGEN' does this chagne the look of the corners?

What is your VIEWRES setting?

Try setting to a higher value to make circles appear like circles.

As for the text, what font are you using?

Difficult to diagnose from a screenshot what is ailing the drawing file.

Like sending a photo of the patient to a doctor.  🙂

I've searched F2, there was no message.

And REGEN didn't work.

That looks like the effect of having the "Line Join Style" set to "Miter" in Plot Style settings, instead of "Round" as I assume you did in previous versions.  I'm not at my place with 2016 right now, but if it displays things as they will be plotted, that would be the first thing I'd check.

My viewres setting was on 100. I've changed it, but nothing happened.

The font of the text is STANDARD.

And I added a picture, just to show you what happened with the textlines.

That's a STYLE, not a FONT.  What is the font assigned to the Standard Text Style in its definition?

If it's a .SHX variety font, and you change the assigned font to a .TTF variety, does it still have the problem?  If chainging that "fixes" it, it reinforces my suggestion about the "Line Join Style" in Plot settings.

Attach a dwg file and end all doubt.
