I also have this issue, despite having selected bind as my transmit option as Bind.
To be clear, I am using e-transmit to bind up x-ref'd models, so the vectorworks users can open them. I do get a bound model as output, but for whatever reason I also get the x-refs and plot configs. So one huge file plus all x-refs. Since this does not happen in 2015 using identical settings I can only assume this is a BUG INTRODUCED TO IMPROVE MY WORKING EXPERIENCE!
Yes I did that already, though as an experienced autocad user I am aware that reporting things like this to autodesk is a bit like a broken pencil.
I've recently come across this problem as well in AutoCAD 2016. Etransmit a drawing that has just one xreference, but the etansmit zip file has 29 autocad files totalling 65mb.
I have concluded that this problem seems to occur if the CAD file were originally from AutoCAD 2014 or 2015, as I do not have this problem for projects where all files originated from AutoCAD 2016.
By opening all AutoCAD 2014 models in AutoCAD 2016 and saving, seems to help this problem.
I'm running AutoCAD 2016 with SP1, Is there a hotfix available?
Hi @Anonymous,
The eTransmit with external reference file issue is fixed in AutoCAD 2017. I am not aware of a hotfix for AutoCAD 2016.
Hi @jeamy.baena,
I just did a test on my plain AutoCAD 2017 and was able to etransmit 28 files to a zip without issue. Let me research a bit to see if this is Civil 3D specific.
Hi @jeamy.baena,
I haven't found anything specific to Civil 3D with eTransmit but one of our Specialists indicated that he has seen some errors with data shortcuts. Is it possible to manually zip up a sample set of drawings so I can test on my side?
