Autocad 2014 freezes when dragging objects to copy, move or to create a block

Autocad 2014 freezes when dragging objects to copy, move or to create a block. The only way to recover from this is to 'end process' from the task manager. Work from last save is lost.

Does it happen on all files or just one?

Have you tried AUDIT to see if it finds anything wrong in the file?

Also might check out DGN purge to see if there is any junk in there causing issues: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-C2-AE-dgn-ho...

This occurs randomly, and I noticed that the busier the drawing the more it tends to happen.
Thanks.

Hi,

if it's independent from dwg-files then let's look to the application and environment:

  • what operating system are you on
  • which graphic card is built in
  • when you start _GRAPHICSCONFIG ... change the setting of "Enable Hardware acceleration" and try it again

Sorted thanks. Went to the graphicsconfig dialogue and chose "Reset to recommended values". This fixed the problem straight away. I turned it back to the way it was, without hardware acceleration, and on trying the right click and drag function, it froze first time.
Thanks a million for your expert advice...much obliged.
