Please show it to us, it's difficult to make suggestions for a message "an error ..." .. not knowing what the error message/report showed you (but not us).

"Some" is not that good as info, which files did it contain?
Back to your first question (besides of reinstall might have not been necessary for solving the Inventor server failure message): when you reinstalled it:
- have you first uninstalled AutoCAD?
- did you follow the rules for clean uninstall?
- or did you just a repair install?
Next questions to know more about that:
- you had local installation files or the DVD from AutoCAD 2013 and installed that from local resources or did you install from Internet-"Install Now" option?
- have you had disabled your firewall
- have you had disabled antivirus software
- did you run the installation as administrator
A lot of questions, but they are needed to know (as exact as possible) what your current state is.
