I've seen some video of people being able to use hand drawn schematics, importing that and AI being able to draw out the schematic. I have found reference for it on Autocad.com however I can't find a tutorial.

And your link in your follow up was discussed in detail a couple of weeks or so ago in a public call-in hosted by Autodesk: it is a work in progress, still very much in the early stages, and yes, you're going to be seriously disappointed about that too, here is the link (if the video comes up for that presentation for you, there might be a few seconds of delay)
