Attribute Layer Not Changing

Hi all, 

I have a text attribute within block. It currently says its on layer 0 but disappears when I turn off a different layer. And I need to move the layer to another layer called "plotnos" I have tried editing it on the block layer & the attribute editor but for some reason it won't move.

Please can you suggest what may be wrong?

You should learn more about Layer0 and in combination with properties value BYBLOCK & BYLAYER!

You edited an AttributDEFINITION, not an Attribut.

Attributes a attached to a Blockreference, based on an Attributdefinition of the block at the time of creation, after this - there is no link between.

There is a command whatz can update ALL Attributproperties (except the the text content)

Command: ATTSYNC [F1]

Could you share a sample dwg with this block and attribute that’s not showing up on the correct layer?

Most likely you forgot to drill down further inside the block first, and compare that to the block's LAYER placement. Use a tool like REFEDIT and BEDIT.
