attaching jegs

Hi, I have been using AutoCAD 2017 for about 2 months, love it. I often use INSERT on tool bar and then ATTACH to attach jpegs for presentation drawings - pics of furniture, etc. Suddenly when I hit INSERT then ATTACH I get a large curser with a message that says PATH TO FILE TO ATTACH and a blue box. I can't manipulate it all. Before I could go into my files and automatically attach pictures.

What did I do??

Hi, Thanks for the help.. but I'm not there yet. I selected Edit Attribute
and a message comes up: SELECT A BLOCK - but it does not take me to a file,
I can't select a block.

I was able to insert a picture of a chair using the OLE OBJECT. I was able
to "paste from" my file, and the picture looked fine in Paintbox, but in my
drawing it was squashed!! Wierd!! I don't understand why I can't insert and
attach the way I have been doing. It was so simple.
Thanks for your help!!
