Any time I click on an object, this little box pops up that describes the line. At first it didnt bother me but its been getting in the way. How do I turn it off?

Its called Quick Properties. Ctrl+Shift+P toggles There is also a toggle for it on the status bar. If it just gets in the way, you can make it stay where you put it as opposed to the default cursor position. Rt+clk on the Quick Properties title bar and choose Location Mode > Static.
