AISC Structural Members

In the older ACAD version, 2013, I can insert structural members from a pull down menu. I Beams, channels angles etc. Is that not part of 2018 version? Please I need help.

Hi @smarbella,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

What you described sounds like the AutoCAD Mechanical Content Libraries, or a customization. This is from 2018.

you are either using the wrong variant of AutoCAD (plain AutoCAD where you are posting has never had that), or you used to have a 3rd party add-on back in 2013 that does not exist for you today.

Which is it? Think back, real hard.

Pretty sure it needs to be added as an addon. Whether you pay for the addon or get it for free from a 3rd party , pretty certain autocad does not comes with  AISC shapes straight out of the box.

Here is free 3rd party AISC shapes that are loaded thru Lisp file:

It might not have all of the AISC Shapes since the program is about 20 years old. AISC might add and remove some shapes every couple editions ... However, definetily a big time saver in regards drafting steel shapes. Make sure you double check once in a while to make sure the shapes are correct !

Cheers
