Acad 2023 Import PDF Text messes up

Our entire Electrical department is seeing this issue now with Acad 2023 whereas Acad 2018 worked fine.

Now, when they import PDFs, the text randomly comes through all messed up as shown below.

ELE-002A.JPG                         ELE-002B.JPG

All updates applied.

Any suggestions?

@Anonymous ,

There might be updates needed and you can see if there are any available via the Autodesk Desktop App.

Although this issue has come up in the past - see suggestion from this LINK:

Use Product feedback to tell Autodesk what you think about its products and any improvements you'd like to see.

@Valentin_CAD  - Thank you.

Yes, all updates are installed.

I got the info in the link you provided and have the user attempting such as we speak.

If I hear back that the band-aid worked, I'll post you here.

The solution may be in the creation of the PDF. If those drawings are not created in AutoCAD and/or a 3rd party PDF creator, band-aids may be the only course of action.

Yeah, these PDFs are coming from a supplier who simply doesn't care the condition of the file they send. So getting them to change something, even a simple setting for us is a no-go.

I know they use Catia for 3D modeling, but this is on Electrical schematics and no idea what CAD package they are using, but I doubt highly that it's Acad. Heck, we are using Acad Mech for schematics. Yes, I know, hoping to get them to change to Acad Ele next year.

Haven't heard back from the original user, but have another one experiencing this error as we speak. Waiting on results.

Well, just heard back and the fixes above don't work in this case as the different lines of text are being combined.

For example: "1" and "2" on separate lines, not only get rotated by say 90 degrees, but they get combined into a "12".

Now, this issue seems to have been around for a long, long time. Seems like a pretty important bug, any word on a fix?

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

With any exports, especially those coming from an unconcerned 3rd party, some rework is to be expected.

From who? I think that if the exporting party is not interested, you will need to adjust the imported text. Garbage in, garbage out.
