How do I navigate into the absolute coordinate system?

I can't understand what your issue is (now), or did you understand absolut coordinate input now?

We explaind three ways to input absolut  coordinates and they are working.

Will check re dynmodes & #@*. There may have been some misunderstanding re need to start anew again. Dimitriy was right in saying that too many posts were confusing the issue & that the best way to proceed was to start with a new post. However, it was not my intent to make a new post immediately, that's why I called to suspend any more discussions about "absolute coord system". It will be a long while, if ever, for me post another question on this issue.

Only other reply I will have is about a new post that brought up the issue that DWT files do not show up as DWG tabs. No need to for you to make any more replies.

Thanks for your comment. Labeling files with a DWT extension was one primary aim I had. If DWG files are the only files that show up, how do you keep record of the DWT files you created? Do you simply name them as DWT-....., or similar?

Hi,

you CAN open .dwt files - the same way you can open .dxf or .dwg as well.

Use command OPEN, change filetype to .dwt if needed, select your .dwt to edit this template.

But this is not what you have to do (your task), you should use command NEW, select this .dwt

and the new/unsaved DrawingN.dwg file the the right one <- this is what you have to do and this is right.

If you want to use the .dwt (as template - for a new .dwg), use command NEW

@jsworks AutoCAD does not let you live in and edit a DWT file, but once you open it you can always save back to that DWT file if you remember to change the file type first on the SAVE or SAVEAS (not QSAVE) pop-up and your DWT files location is saved in the default location

Your reply was similar to what I did i.e. save-as DWG, though I would not save back to a DWT folder. I would create my own folder of Templates & save with names starting with "dwt-......".

I wasn't able to bring-up dynmode in system variable, but its not a problem right now. I realized your solutions are  about UCS functions which others have alluded to. I will deal UCS issues at a later time.

Thanks for your comments & help. You hit all the correct choices, but I will essentially go with HTN & Sebastian comments about "save-as" method. I will get into UCS comments at a later time.
