2019.1.2: osnap don't pick exactly where I want

I have installed Autocad 2019 with the latest update 1.2.

I create some polylines and then with only endpoint snap I try

to pick the end of a line and draw a new line.

If I do this a little quicker, it picks a little further from where I want.

Why this?

Should I reistall everything?

Please a little help.

I have found a virus called "Bluteal!rfn" and cleaned it.

I am glad my file is working to you.

I am waiting while I am drawing in Autocad,

if this osnap "thing" finally is not serious as I mentioned...

Ok this is my final statement regarding this thread I opened.

I assure everyone that yes I have this bug on my Autocad 2019.1.2.

I am using Autocad from 1990, this is the first time I meet this

kind of serious problem, because Autocad is famous for it's precision.

Immagine if I cannot use well the osnap feature!!!!

So I roll back to Autocad 2018 wich works excellent.

I don't know if the rest of the world don't have this bug,

but in my pc is alive and kicking.

We run 5 ACAD 2019 stations, two of them have a similar problem as you explain.  One unfortunately is mine, my first issue with 2019 was the selection issue, that was rectified with a hot fix and a reissue of an update.  The second is this issue and I believe they could be related.  With the selection issue, speed was critical, if you performed your crossing windows slowly, selection worked, but if you sped up ACAD did not select the appropriate things.

Now, watch my attached video, and note that when I select a point to dimension, the selection icon is "on" when I select the point, works most times, but not all.  If you look closely the point is acquired at the precise cross hair position and not the snap position, it is as if ACAD has a slight delay from "enter" command to actually carrying out the command, and at that time the cross hairs have already moved away.

I agree with skifx, when he states his years of experience, implying that this is not operator error, but a definite bug,  I have 18 years ACAD experience, I do things instinctively, and as soon as I started using 2019 this issue arrived.

This issue is very frustrating, and will most probably cause incorrect dimensioning, resulting in rejected products.

Turn off OSnap tracking or click slower. In your video, I can see a tracking line when you get the errant dimensions.

Switched of OSNAP tracking, no change.

Admittedly my video isn't that great, but does highlight my issue.  When you have been drawing for years you do things instinctively, so why should I all of a sudden have to slow my actions to get it to work.

Something just doesn't feel right.

My English is not great, but you described and confirmed exactly what happened also to me....

I use now both Autocad 2018 and 2019.

2018 primarily.

Some times I try to use again 2019, because I think that maybe is my....imagination! 🙂 

But nope... as you say.... if you draw quickly, this is extremely annoying and a cause

to make tremendous errors...

Of course it feels different, it's a new version. It's probably a setting somewhere that you changed in the previous version. It could also be a new setting/feature that you need to adjust.

If it were me, I would click slower to see what it is that I am doing to produce the error and adjust accordingly.

Easy answer, draw slower to relearn your muscle memory for clicking so that you do it correctly. You will eventually build your speed back up.

I will be rebuilding my workstation from scratch, W10 and all other programs. will most probably reload 2018 too.  Will let everyone know if I find anything.

2019.1.1 update had a bug with selection issues. (also very serious)

Assuming that was fixed, now 2019.1.2 has osnap issues. (at list for me)

I never remember Autocad to have problems in such crucial drawing tools

as selection and osnap.

Anyway as I said before, regarding my job I am more than satisfied with Autocad 2018

that works flawlessly.

Regarding the 2019 version, I just wait for a third update, otherwise

I will just wait the 2020 version...

Also my workstation testing all that is a HP Z with 32 cores, if this helps for

future posts...

I don't need product feedback , I just mention a bug.

I don't know if the rest of the users here are nerds and

they don't know how to use well Autocad.

Hi @pproestos,

I tried this action with your file and could not duplicate the action. I suspect it is related to the graphics card or driver.

When you place the line (where it appears to snap incorrectly) if you look at the end point property is it in the correct location?

Also, do you have a different computer to test on with a different graphics card? Can you test with your current graphics card and a different driver version?

Rebuilt my workstation and have re-loaded 2019, problem still as before. tested it both before and after importing my old settings.

Next step, Install a NVidia Quadro P2000 graphics card.  This card was purchased the other day for another PC, so I am borrowing it for a while.

This should eliminate the question of whether it is hardware related or not.  Keep you posted.

Just the fact that it is random, never mind all clicking and moving the mouse so fast, tells you it's not a hardware or even software issue.
