2018 version Hanging-up

I am working on a drawing and tried to offset two vertical lines. It does offset and then hangs up on me. I tried several times recovering. Recover from back-up without luck every time. after heating several time return button or offset button the offset lines vanishes.

I have closed the software and restarted the computer several time and also without luck

I have attached the screen shot and the zip file of the drawing.

Any help will be appreciated.

Greetings @apanbasu
Your posted files are all 2007DWG file formats, and all contain ADT/ARCH2007 content: is that deliberately being saved that way in "2018version" which will remove all ADT/ARCH intelligence from the files for someone still using that old software?

Also curious about the purgeable items in that one file too and if any of that is slowing you down significantly:
Blocks.................... | Purged : 587
Registry Applications..... | Purged : 923
Annotation Scales......... | Purged : 16
Layers.................... | Purged : 246
Line types................ | Purged : 197
Dimensions................ | Purged : 17

I seem to be able to OFFSET your lines as much as I want in any direction: see below, I turned off LWDISPLAY as it was too distracting for me anyway

I have downloaded your file and saved the file in 2018. I can delete your lines and then tried to something else - I loose my cursor. I could only open other programs but cannot do anything on Autocad Drawing.
I have purged all in my xref files and with the base file
Another question: How do I automatically save in 2018?

You probably are missing this important update https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Update-2018-1-2-av...

And you probably need to tone down or off your graphics settings in AutoCAD too

Many thanks for the suggestion. In the mean time what I did was start fresh and it worked. I will change the stating as you have suggested.
