VIEWBASE command

Anonymous
Not applicable

I switch back and forth from Autocad at work to Autocad for Mac at home, which I started using recently. At work, I frequently use the viewbase tool to lay out 2D views in paper space from my 3D models, as discussed in the following link.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/AutoC...

I have thus far been unable to find this command or any equivalent on Autocad for Mac, which has rendered the application basically useless to me. Does this tool exist in the mac version? If so, how do I access it? If not, how in the world do I lay out views of my 3D model on paper?

Thanks!

Hi James,

AutoCAD for Mac doesn't include Model Documentation feature. You can only view and print Model doc views, created in AutoCAD for PC.
Actually your question has already been answered:

Hi,

As Maxim said, the most of the Model Documentation feature is not in AutoCAD for Mac. Include Create/Modify Model View from AutoCAD modeling or Inventor Drawing.

The only related feature is that you can view the Drawing which created on Windows side:

Can you tell me your workflow for using the Model Documentation? This will help us to improve the product.

Thanks,
