Does anyone have a tutorial or resource for how I can learn how to write / incorporate macros (and possibly some lisps) into the CUI for Autocad LT for Mac? It seems like there is a lot of potential for this, but I am a total newbie and need somewhere to start.

HI,
Here is a link to "AutoCAD for Mac 2011 User Interface Customization Tutorial" (could be applied to LT)

I also attached interesting AU Handout ("Introduction to Macro Writing" by Kate Morrical)

Maxim,
As far as lisp apps or macros go, if I am going to learn one or the other, does one have limitations that prevent functionality? Which should I learn? I've coded lisp many years ago.

Hi John,
It all depends on your needs.
AutoLISP is a programming language and therefore you can build "intelligence" into it.
Macros has no "intelligence" and is just a list of commands in the same order that you would type them to the AutoCAD command prompt.

Hi, 10 years later of what you wrote here - does the current version of AutoCAD LT for Mac support users1-5 variables?
Hi @moneumiko ,
I'm not sure, because I don't have access to AutoCAD LT now.
But I think nothing has changed.
From AutoCAD LT online help:
"Note: The USERS1-5 system variables are not available in AutoCAD LT for Mac OS."
Thanks! That's a pity... I use a lot of macros, also with the Diesel variables. I'm going to get a mac (at last!) in near future but I think I'll stick to the windows AutoCAD (either through parallels or just switching between devices). Although I will check the mac one too!
