Thicken Command for AutoCAD Mac

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use the Thicken command in AutoCAD for Mac to add thickness to a cylinder. However, I keep receiving an error message stating that "no surface was selected," even though I have selected the surface.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or know how to resolve this? I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards

Hi @hrdodia ,

Are you sure that the cylinder you are trying to convert with THICKEN command is a surface object.

What do you see in the Properties Palette when you select the cylinder?

Can you share your drawing here?

Hi @hrdodia ,

Both cylinders are already 3D Solids, so you cannot use THICKEN command to convert them into a 3D solid with a specified thickness.

What results do you want to achieve?

I can suppose that you want to convert cylinders to tubes.

So you need at first explode 3D Solids (cylinders) with EXPLODE command, then convert tube surfaces to solids with thickness with THICKEN command.

See attached drawing

Thank you, I understood why I was not able to use the THICKEN command. After using the EXPLODE command, I was able to solve the problem. Appreciate your prompt response. Thank you.
