PDF Printing

Is there an accurate PDF print option from a DWG on AutoCAD for mac?  the standard 'save as PDF' is terrible quality and 'save as Adobe PDF' doesnt seem to work.  I read somewhere that Acrobat 9 PDf print is not supported on OSX 10, needs to be 9.1 or later.  Is there ther no option, as in windows, to print PDF?  Alternatively, do i need to purchase an separate PDF writer?

Cheers

Hi cris,

I've been investigating this problem.

1. Do not rush to buy separate PDF writer, I am afraid that it will not help.

2. The fact of the "
terrible quality" output when saving in PDF format does not arise from the virtual PDF printer driver, as I think, AutoCAD itself sends misleading information to the virtual printer. When you print to a real printer (any manufacturer) there is the same situation.

 3. I think that this is one of the main problems that should be resolved by Developers in the near future.

Yes, it's very useful information, but it's about custom paper sizes for printing, and not about the print quality.

I actually found out its Acrobat 9.0 was the problem and lacked the drivers for MOSX or something.  I updated to Acrobat 9.4 and found out that Adobe removed the 'print to PDF' option from its drivers, instead there is an option to 'save as Adobe PDF' in the bottom left corner of print menu.  the quality seems to be better and printing hard copies from these PDF are as good as any

Hi chris,

Could you help me in my investigation about print quality?

If you're not hard, please, print DWG file (using Adobe driver), which I posted in the attachment and publish the resulting PDF.

I want to compare results.

Thanks,

Maxim

Thank you for your help!
Unfortunately - far from standard.
Standard - printed in AutoCAD 2011 for Win - is in attachment.
