Imported image JPEG turns out black when plotted...

Hello Guys,

I have a problem and I hope someone can help me!

I've tried to plot a image but when I do it comes out black.

A friend tried it on a windows version of Autocad, than it comes out normal...

The image was inserted -> references -> selected image in map -> It shows in the lay-out-> than It turns out black.

Does someone know a solution for this problem?

Thanks.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Have you tried to open JPG file in some raster editing application on your Mac and reserve it under another name, than attach re-saved image to the drawing?
Maybe something wrong in the image itself?

I asked my friend to send the image he had used.

But it also turned out to be black. Smiley Frustrated

I mean that something could be wrong with the image on Mac side.
Are you sure it is really jpeg image? Maybe it is in another format, but has JPG extension.
Can you attach the problem image here?
I'll look at it.

Everything looks fine on my side - AutoCAD 2016 for Mac, new drawing, monochrome plot style table.

See attached PDF.

Do you use custom plot style table for the page setup in your drawing?

Have you tried to insert images in new drawing and test exporting to PDF?

Hi @Anonymous,

I too am able to see the images, attach them in a drawing and plot them to a PDF. See attached.

What printer drivers do you have installed and which version of AutoCAD for Mac are you using?

Can you attach a screenshot of what your pagesetup looks like?

I tried to plot the images and they appear!

But once i added the image in my layout the image appears in black...

All with the same page setup.

Hi GysRO,

I am sorry that you are still facing this problem. Can you please attach your drawing with the images so I can take a look for you?

Does it appears in black as soon as you add it to the layout?

Hi @Anonymous,

I am able to print it  a PDF ok (see attached). Can you do this too? If not, perhaps there is something in your print settings. Can you attach your CTB file and also show me your standard print settings?

Hi GysRO

Let's try this please.

I have installed a driver for the HP PageWide XL series. With that as my default system printer I do not get the black showing up on a PDF.

Could you try installing the same driver? It will try to look for the actual device but you can put in a dummy IP address instead.

From your screenshot I also assume you aren't using any third-party PDF software as a driver.

Hi guys,

You may have resolved this issue already but just in case you haven't. I realized that I encounter the image (jpeg my case) turns black when plotted is when I applies XCLIP to the reference file the image belongs to. For example, I have my company's logo jpeg in the title block which is referenced into my plan drawing. I did some xclip to the title block and the blackout happened on plot and disappeared if I turned off the XCLIP.  So, I am still interested if there is a solution on that. Cheers
