How to apply displacement map to face

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have created multiple displacement maps from images in the program PixPlant3. I want to apply each of these to the faces of a pentagonal prism in AutoCAD.

How do I:

1. Insert these displacement maps in AutoCAD (would they be something I would upload to the materials panel?)

2. Apply each to individual faces of my mesh?

(I am a beginner in AutoCAD.)

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Samuel,

You cannot create new materials or customize existing materials in AutoCAD for Mac, so you cannot use custom displacement maps.

To assign different materials to the different faces, you need to Crtl+click on a face and use right-click context menu "Assign to Selection" in Material Browser:

So you're telling me that there is no way to upload a new material to your
library from outside of the application, regardless of whether or not you
created it.

Yes, exactly.

There is no such functionality in AutoCAD for Mac.
