Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi Nicolò,

I donn't have any issues with finding .BAK files in Finder on my Mac:

Please also verify that the creation of a backup file (BAK) is enabled in AutoCAD:

System variable ISAVEBAK should be set to "1":

Command: ISAVEBAK
Enter new value for ISAVEBAK <0>: 1
Command:

Maxim

Hi Maxim,

I have verified all and all is OK, but bak are ever unfindable.

By Find information command the file is not linked to any default app. Perhaps the bak files must be associated to Autocad?

Maybe is this the problem?

Regards?

Hi Nicolò,

You have not mentioned about ISAVEBAK System variable. What value does it have on your system?

Can you try this:

1/ Create folder on the Desktop on your Mac, start AutoCAD,

2/ Save drawing under some name inside folder you created in the 1-st step, create some objects in this drawing and save it again with QSAVE command

3/ Quit AutoCAD

4/ Navigate in Finder to the folder, you created in step #1, post screenshot of the Finder window here.

Maxim

Hi Maxim,

the ISAVEBAK is set to 1.

As you said, I have created a sample dwg and it's bak (in a desktop folder) and Finder find it immediately!

But when i search a bak (that I know exist) under other folders (in sub directories), Finder doesn't find it.

Maybe a OS X latency?

Also the folder where the unfindable bak is, have not privacy properties in Spoltlight preferences.

Regards,

Nicolò
