Dynamic Blocks keep breaking

Hello autodesk community

I'm having a strange issue with some dynamic blocks in AutoCAD for Mac. I made some fairly simple blocks with attribute text and editable mtext, as well as some leader lines for notating. My issue is that these blocks seem to break if I leave my computer idle for some time. When this happens the stretch command on the outside leader only moves the arrow head without affecting the line attached to it, actually none of the commands, including visibility state affect this line, and it's only this line. I know the block isn't the issue because if I reinsert it (from within the drawing, not redefining it) the block works fine again, likewise running ATTSYNC fixes it.

Is anyone else having a similar issue

Hi Aidan,

I tried, but cannot reproduce the issue you have with tis block.
Can you attach your drawing with the block in the state you described?

BTW, I noticed that the arrow starts to behave in a strange way if I stretch "leader" to near zero value, so I'd recommend you to set minimum distance for stretch action for "leader" with arrow, like I did in the attached drawing.

Hi Maxim.

Took me a while to get the problem to repeat but luckily it happened to a coworker, here is a file with the broken block.

your options to fix the block are

to insert the identical block - this one will work

run attsync.

I'm just confused as to what the problem could be

Hi @acicci,

I too tried your dynamic block and did not seem to have the visual problems with your block. Have you tried modifying any of the options inside GRAPHICSCONFIG to see if that affects the behavior?

Please tell me which version of AutoCAD you are using and describe your Mac.

Hi John

I’m using AutoCAD 2018 full, other people in my office are using AutoCAD 2018 LT for MAC and one person is actually on LT on a PC. Graphicsconfig doesn’t seem to fix the problem on any setting. We are all having this issue

My MAC has the following specs

* macOS high Sierra, version 10.13.1
* iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, Late 2015)
* 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
* 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3
* AMD Radeon R9 M390 2 GB

And beyond that I have no information sorry

Hi @acicci,

Is it possible to make a Screencast video of the behavior? I would like to pass this onto a couple other specialists and that would help demonstrate the issue.

I still have not been able to duplicate the action but will try to find some more time today to work on it.

Hi

Sorry for the lateness of this response, busy at the office

Here is a screen cast, as you can see the block seems to lose control over that one line. If I bring in the same block from within the file, that block works. It's a weird issue that I cannot resolve

Hi Aidan,

Have you tried to use "FINISH TAG-new" block from my drawing attached in this post:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/dynamic-blocks-keep-breaking/m-p/7961354/highli...
instead of your "FINISH TAG" block?

Do you have the same issue with "FINISH TAG-new" as with "FINISH TAG"?

Maxim

I had not sorry I'm currently testing it out to see if it works, the problem is pretty random though so it may take some time to reproduce
