dimension display for selected object

Hi there!

I just updated to AutoCAD 2024, I remember when I used older versions, the dimensions of the selected object would be displayed automatically when you hover your cursor over it.

It's not doing that now, how do I turn this setting on?

Hi @corbellebrais ,

>>>>> I remember when I used older versions,

Have you previously used AutoCAD for Mac or AutoCAD for Windows?

>>>>the dimensions of the selected object would be displayed automatically when you hover your cursor over it.

Can you somehow illustrate how this information was shown?

Do you mean MEASUREGEOM command with Quick mode enabled?

Thanks for the reply Maxim!

I have always been working on a MacBook Pro.

My current one is the M3.

The dimensions would show up like this when the object is selected and the cursor is hovering at a corner. The dimensions would show up like this when the object is selected and the cursor is hovering at a corner. It's almost like this when you're drawing but with something that's drawn and selected. It's almost like this when you're drawing but with something that's drawn and selected.

How do you turn MEASUREGEOM quick mode on? I tried entering the command but don't know how to keep it on.

It's something like that but without the orange lines and without having to put in command.

Hi @corbellebrais ,

Do you mean this:

If yes, then you need to select object and then move put cursor over the blue grip, you should see multi-function grip menu and dimensions.

Note 1: You need to set System Variable GRIPMULTIFUNCTIONAL=3

Note 2: If you have macOS Sonoma on your Mac, don't forget to update AutoCAD 2024 with the latest update.

Yes it's exactly that!

My multi-function grip with green squares at the corners also disappeared.

I've successfully updated my AutoCAD to the latest version through the link you provided, as well as setting the variables, but nothing changed...

Any suggestions what I should try next?

@pendean I tried that too but didn't work, thank you though!

1/ Please check that you have grips enabled in AutoCAD Preferences:

2/ Ensure that the object(s) you select are not a part of a Group  or a part of a Block - look at the Properties palette when you select these objects.
