Setting Text Height

I want my text to print out 3/16" high in a paper space drawing scaled 1 1/2 inch.  (11 x 17 print out)

I set up a text style that is 3/16" high and I selected it in the dimension style.

When I dimension the object and print it out it is bigger than 3/16 high.  Why??

Attached please see:

The floor plan is drawn on "Floor Plans TEST.dwg"

The dimensioning is done on "Plans Annotated test.dwg"

The paper space is on "Sheet1 test".dwg"

Thank you for your consideration.

Are the problem items AAI_DIM_Smaller and ARCH_HAND_TEXT_SMALL by chance?

Seems to be working fine

I am using "ARCH_HAND_TEXT_SMALL"

But I embarrassed to say that I need the letters to be 3/32 NOT 3/16.  My arithmetic error.  But,

I noticed you circled the annotation scale in the bottom right. Frankly I don't understand what this is or does.   The floor plan, my template, is set at 1/8".   I got it from an architectural firm that always does their plans at 1/8".  Is this bad practice?  It is really true that all drawing should be done at 1:1?

Why does it matter when I set the scale in paper space for what I need?

Hi @JEFFJW9BB ,

Try this:

Edit text style you are using in dimension style and dimension style itself in the Plans Annotated test.dwg:

2024-04-13_18-35-48.png

 2024-04-13_18-38-00.png

Save drawing and look at the dimensions.
