DIFFERENT XREF VISIBILITY FOR DIFFERENT SHEETS WITHIN SAME FILE?

Hi, I have a file that has multiple Xref's referencing a the Architecture of a building and separate Xrefs referencing the building interiors. for each floor (approx 20 floors)

Is there a way to toggle the Xref states i.e. unloaded / overlay for different sheets? in the same way that you can create a layer state.

Or must i split the files and turn them on/off as required?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

Create layer states with frozen layers for each of Xrefs, then in each layout apply necessary layer state when you are inside viewport. Group of layers for different Xrefs will be "VPfrozen"

Hi Tom,

This could affect AutoCAD overall performance, actually there is no limit for number Xrefs in AutoCAD itself.
You can also look at this article in AutoCAD Help documentation:
https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2019/ENU/index.html?guid=GUID-5A45465D-287F-460A-91B5-2CB8593F...
which explains how to improve performance when using xrefs.

Hi Thanks @maxim_k,

just to exhaust all other options.

Is there a way to group or re-arrange the order of Xref's so that its easier to toggle on/off?

Thanks

Hi Tom,

When you attach Xref, AutoCAD creates Layer Group for that Xref making easier to manage Xref layers:2019-01-31_09-22-41.png
