Dead parts of screen when using Autocad or when it's open in the background

Hello - I have a Very weird problem id be very grateful to have solved! And really sorry if i've posted this in the wrong place.

Basically when using Autocad certain parts of my screen become dead/ inactive. It happens most often down by the Model / Layout part of the screen - I click and nothing happens. until I move the entire window to the right hand side of the screen - then click them and it will work.

This sometimes just happens on random parts of the modeling window too.

Or I click and it activates the Print function of autocad, Even though I might have just clicked somewhere on the main screen to draw a line.

This can happen even through other applications, so - I could be trying to click on an email link, and it will see right through that and activate the same autocad print function, even though im not currently using autocad (but it is open)

This is really frustrating as you can imagine. I cant seem to find anyone with the same issue as me either.

Thanks in advance !

>>>>Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB as the main card

Are you sure?
I'm asking, because as you wrote here:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/dead-parts-of-screen-when-using-autocad-or-when...
you have MacBook Pro retina 2012, but the only one MacBook with Intel Iris 6100 is MacBookPro 13" (early 2015) and it has only one - integrated - graphics card.

Have you tried to reset AutoCAD to default settings? (menu AutoCAD -> Reset AutoCAD)

Lovely thanks for this - it seems to have fixed the problem - at least for now.

any idea how this could have happened to avoid getting this again?

Thanks for your help with this.

Could be a lot of reasons....
Most likely that is because of one of AutoCAD's crash. Have you had AutoCAD crashes?

Hello - Thanks for all your help previously - I'm afraid my problem is back again! - and this time Resetting is having little effect.

There is one suspicion.  - I've just started a new project since starting this thread. - and to do so i've needed to take some dimension from an existing auto cad drawing done a few years back by some professional engineers. - I just design studios so I would assume that these guys have made a decent drawing. However it was upon loading their drawing that my issues seem to have returned.

I copied the section I needed out of their drawing into a new one. saved it, then reset autocad again. Fine for a very short while then problems came back again.

Is there any way I can investigate into these files to find out what could possibly be causing this?

Can you share the drawing which cases the issue to return?
You can attach it here on the Forum or send it to my email: mkanaev at yandex.ru
