Cannot update Autocad 2011 for Mac (update1, 2 and 3)

I'd like to download Lion for my Mac (actually with Snow Leopard) but I'm not sure that Autocad 2011 for Mac works. I have a Autocad for Mac Student Edition, it's a complete version but limited to 3 years only. Before install Lion I have read that I need to update Autocad 2011 with the update1, 2 and 3. I've downloaded these update, but when I install them my Mac says to me that there's no Autocad software installed that can be updated!
Student Edition cannot be updated??? The update 1, 2 and 3 is necesary to be sure thet Autocad 2011 works on Lion!!
What can I do to have an Autocad Student Edition that works on Lion? I'll prefer to update the 2011 Version and not install the 2012! Because I'm not sure that there's a 2012 Student Edition avaible!
Thanks!

Start AutoCAD and at the Command prompt type "_VERNUM" (without quotes) hit Return.

AutoCAD will respond with version number. What is it?

You can relax and update to Lion, as you already have AutoCAD for Mac 2011 with Updates 1, 2 and 3 installed.

From Update3 README:

To install this AutoCAD 2011 for Mac Update 3, do the following:
1    Close AutoCAD for Mac and all applications before you begin to install the update.
2    Double-click AutoCAD2011ForMacUpdate3.dmg to mount the volume 3    Double-click AutoCAD2011ForMacUpdate3.mpkg in the new mounted
volume to run the installer.
4    Follow the on-screen instructions.
5    Launch AutoCAD for Mac after the installation has completed.
6    At the command prompt, type _vernum and press Enter to verify the update was installed. The version number should be "E.49.H.602".

Thank you (both)!

I had a similar issue which this post helped resolved (relatively painlessly!)

I had version number ending .555 but after going ahead with Update 3 for Mac I now have version number (_vernum) ending .602.

Cheers!
