AutoCAD LT 2020 for Mac won't run following OS 10.14.6 upgrade

Hi

AutoCAD LT 2020 for Mac trial won't run following upgrade to OS 10.14.6 (from 10.14.5)

I tried un-installing and re-installing, same problem.

When I launch the program I see the start of a menu bar at the top, then a window as if it's loading, then they disappear, that's it.

Can anyone help me get it working again please?

I am trying to see if LT will work for me as previously I had access to the full version. If I can complete my investigation I will buy a license.

Sorry, previously posted in the LT forum.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Chris,

10.14.6 shouldn't affect AutoCAD LT for Mac functionality.
If you used the commercial version of the program, I would advise you to perform a clean reinstall:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...
but I'm not sure how that clean reinstall will work with trial version.
How many days are left until the end of using the trial version?

BTW,
have you tried to install AutoCAD LT for Mac 2020.0.1 Hotfix?

Hi, thanks for your response.

I previously tried a clean un-install. Same symptoms as oriniginally described - appears to load, then I see the coloured wheel of doom, then it all just vanishes.

I tried the hotfix as suggested, same result.

Any further help would be gratefully received.

I presume there is a missing / corrupt file or folder somewhere, but I've seen dire warnings from Autodesk that deleting certain files will mean that I will no longer be able to access the product - kind of where I am right now!

I'm in a catch 22 - unless I can confirm LT will work for me I obviously don't want to purchase it. Without a paid licence I have no access to Autodesk's tech support. Frustrating.

Thanks for your efforts though.

What if you will create new user account on your Mac (Users&Groups pane of macOS System Preferences), login to this new account and launch AutoCAD?

Thanks for your suggestion.

I tried creating a new user account on my Mac and opening AutoCAD LT 2020 for Mac there, same result - I first see the start of a menu bar, then an AutoCAD window, then the coloured wheel, then they all disappear.

So, unfortunately I'm still stuck with my trial ticking down to zero with a system I can't use, with no way to access Tech Support.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

Sorted

I previously found alleged clean install instructions that gave dire warnings about deleting certain AutoCAD related files re not being able to access AutoCAD anymore if deleted - so obviously I left those alone.

Recently found a pukka clear set of instructions:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...

Did everything it suggested and re-installed AutoCAD - now it works, though my preferences have obviously been lost - a small price to pay.

I can get on with my trial, and hopefully purchase.

Thanks to all who responded.

BTW, that is what I suggested in my first response to your post HERE

So the solution is Clean reinstall.
