display objects

Hello, 

I just bought Autocad 2020 for Mac OS , for professional use.

On the drawings that I open, made by other Autocad users on windows computers, I cannot visualize "Windows OLE objects", and there is a dialog box warning when opening the file. Whatever option I choose (display objects when available or display box instead..) they just appear as a empty rectangle. Those OLE Windows object seem to be table from Excel or text from Word inserted into the drawing. Not display those objects make the drawing obsolete and it is crucial for my work to manage to display them.

I already search the support site for potential downloads of fixing updates. I did actually install the latest Autocad 2020.0.1 Mac Hotfix Combo

Hope there is a simple solution to this...

There might be over in the AutoCAD for Mac forum.

There is no OLE linking to Excel/Word options on the Mac platform: that's a WindowsOS feature.

If you need that ability you will need to install the Windows version on your MAC instead through the
many options available to that platform.

thanks for your message, I am now aware of that. do you reckon it would work if the Windows user would insert a pdf extract or a jpg picture ?

Yes, it will work.
Windows user can even try to copy table to clipboard and them use "paste special" as "AutoCAD Entities", then you will get Table in the drawing.
