Can AutoCAD LT for Max 2017 be installed on an OSx with Apple APFS formatted SSD? I am having issues trying to do so, but wonder if there is a work around or setting change that can be made?

Hi @TIMCOOKE6282,

Here is an article that indicates that the file system that is supported is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).  I will reach out to see if there is additional support for it. Are you running High Sierra or a different OS?

Hi @TIMCOOKE6282,

  • Since High Sierra is not a public release, I suggest that you refrain from trying to install 2017 product on it as it was not originally designed to work with that file system.  I know that the Mac development team is testing product on High Sierra so I hope that I can say it is supported in the near future.

I suggest you also consider contacting the Mac Customer Council and enroll for the current Beta release of the next version of AutoCAD for Mac.

Hello @TIMCOOKE6282,

Just wanted to update everyone on this. My understanding is that only High Sierra offers APFS which is a Beta Apple OS that has not yet been released. Autodesk does not support Beta operating systems. Thank you for bringing this up in the forum.

Hello @TIMCOOKE6282

I would like to update everyone on this, MacOS High Sierra v10.13 was released this week & Autodesk has released  AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2017.2 update. The system requirements have not been updated as of yet.

AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT for Mac 2017.2 Update Readme

"The 2017.2 Update fixed compatibility issues with macOS High Sierra. It also improves overall stability of the product. This update can be installed on all AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2017 official releases and is recommended for all users. Please read the entire document before you apply the update to your product. For reference, please save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

The 2017.1 Update and 2017.1.1 Hotfix are included in this 2017.2 update."

Note: If you are looking for a full installer of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2017.2 that is compatible with High Sierra, please go to page https://knowledge.autodesk.com/download"Service Packs and Fixes" to find it.
