ISA Compatibility for loop numbers

ISA Compatibility for loop numbers

Our customers use loop numbers for tagging their devices on P&ID drawings followed by a Letter designation (SUFFIX), where the letter suffix designation indicates multiple devices in the same loop.  THIS IS AN AVAILABLE ISA STANDARD.

Currently there is no way to use a tag SOL-9090A, SOL-9090B where 9090 is the loop number and the Letter at the end is the instance character.  There needs to be a different option (ALPHA CHARACTER) available than just the forced %N variable.

Using the %N as a prefix does meet the requirements of the ISA standard, the problem is we cannot expect to ask every consultant, contractor or customer to use this format.
