ALLOW FULL 60 CHARACTERS IN ASSEMBLY CODE IN DATABASE

ALLOW FULL 60 CHARACTERS IN ASSEMBLY CODE IN DATABASE

When creating parts with assemblies one is allowed to put in a code that is 60 characters.

But when setting up the footprint lookup, the field in the database for the assembly code will only accept 24 characters.

This is a pretty serious issue, the ability to create assemblies like: 1,140G-M-MECH_6FT;2,140G-M-LUGS3X_2/0-400MCM is important....

that code is allowed in the Insert/Edit component "ASSEMBLY" field, it is allowed when crearting the part in the catalog. But NOT allowed in the footprint database.

This effectively limits the assembly codes to 24 characters, NOT 60 characters as advertised in help file.

Further when you insert a code that long... it does not give an error that the field length is too long.

also it would be good if frootprint lookup actually looked in ONLY the destination supplied.

If you have a file path of \AB\CB\140g-m-blah-blah.dwg

And there is a dwg with that title in \panel, it will find that one first... even though that is not the path it was told to look in, it should have kept looking deeper as instructed.
