Terminal Strip Editor Creates Empty & Spare Terminals Automatically!

Hi dear Experts ,

recently i created about 25 terminal strip , each on has about 24 terminals , i created Circuit macros (wblock) to create a circuit template for 100 sheets to use Import from Spreadsheets , before importing everything was ok and fine but after importing spreadsheet and define location code and installation code for all components , i opened project today and noticed that TSE created Empty Spare terminals with no identification ! ( exactly equal to my strip quantity )

for example for X-2D-5 i created 24 terminal and after opening project again i noticed that TSE created 48 terminal :

24 with identification + catalog no + terminal numbers

24 Empty with no Catalog no , no terminal no , and no any other identification

notice that : i didn't use Ctrl+c command to copy terminals ( so i checked out Linkterm and it was fine)

i can delete empty terminals with going to TSE and use delete spare terminals/Accessories but i what's the reason!?

with best wishes ,

Are you able to replicate this with a single drawing in a project, that you can share here for me to test?

Hi dear rhesusminus ,

i found solution but i say maybe it helps people ,

as you know there is no Cut command for Footprints so i used "Schematic Cut Clipboard" command for moving so many terminal Footprint Strips to another sheet , then i noticed in TSE Autocad created Empty Spares with no Catalog number with no Terminal Number and Equal to terminal numbers . so it was my fault .

i did it because of huge number of terminals (1700) and i can't delete them an put it again to another sheet, there is no option in AE for move footprints to another sheet (cut), and there is another problem!

i have about 100 strip (each Strip has 20 terminal (10 Pair Field Cable From junction Box)) i use TSE for inserting Terminal Footprints in my Drawing but when i reach 80th Strip (1600 terminal inserted ) Autocad Crashes !! is there any reason ?  is there any limit for AE to inserting footprints?i ran Audit , AEAudit , DWG Audit , Overkill ,.. to check if there is error in my Wiring Diagrams , i know Autocad crashes happen when there is Logical Problem or there is Wrong Addressing but i checked every where my eyes can see , can you offer some Solution !

With best Wishes

It would be interesting to have a look at your project. I don't feel like generating a test project with 2000 term8nals 🤣

Would you be able to share it with me? You can share it privately at t h l @ c t r l a l t e l . c o m

I've had a quick look, but after deleting all terminals on B02 and B03, and then starting to insert them again via TSE, I get more than 20 inserts without any problem.

What happens if you stop at strip 19, exit TSE, and then, start TSE again to isnert strip 20... Will it work then?

What is the contents of this file?

ahh srry for saying this , if you sort TSE by  "Terminal Strip" Column  in your first strip is : ST-07-A-IO  if you Start inserting from this strip until ST-PLC-DI  its about 80 Strip i get crashing in when i insert all 80 Strip in a row non stop without exiting TSE.

Really Srry i don't know why i wrote 20th Strip in my Email Message , 20 Strips is easy to insert ! i wrote it wrong i was mean 80!

can you try it again , i'm sorry for this mistake

about "C:\Users\A.ahmadi\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2021\R24.0\enu\Support\user\input_strip_network.txt"

i must find that file , its in my System in Office , i will inform you when i found it .

that you dude,

I've finally had time to sit down an look into this.

And.. I could insert every single one of your terminals, without AutoCAD Electrical crashing. And it sure took a long time, so I understand the frustration when it crashes 😄

I'm running AutoCAD Electrical 2023, but I don't know of any problems that has been fixed regarding this with the TSE from release 2021.

Did you find this txt-file? It might be that it won't appear until you see a crash again...

Hi dear @rhesusminus ,

thank you for spending time to test my Issue, i don't know what to say about it , maybe it's version difference

i use same version on 2 PC and it happened on both , maybe switching to 2023 solve issue,

txt file appears each time crash happens + .dmp files(i attached it too for you )

i analyzed dump file with "Windbg" and it had so much data but didn't guided me to clear reason!

thank you for doing this , appreciate that dude , if i found more information or solution i will inform you .

with best regards
