Loaded Symbol into a project file does not come out as a "component"

Hi, 

I have a dwg drawing that is a "component" and is editable when right clicked (see 1st snip shot), and this drawing is saved in a library path. I utilized icon menu wizard to add that dwg into the icon menu library for a project. When i  attempt to load that into my project file drawing using icon menu, the dwg block is loaded, but it does not come out as "component" but rather as a simple autocad block that has no function in Autocad electrical (see 2nd snip shot)

In the project properties, I also added the file location where the drawing is saved into the project schematic libraries path (see 3rd snip shot), so technically the project drawing should detect that. 

Am i missing something in the process? Please understand that i am super beginner into AutoCAD Elec. Your help is much appreciated.

After inserting this PLC to the schematic, how did you save it to a symbol? Wblock? It looks like you have a block within a block here. Try to explode the block once, and then do a right click.

Thanks, I did what you asked and it actually worked! I was trying this for other blocks and when I exploded them, the terminals connections were showing up and the blocks were actually exploded and did not come as "component", I am guessing whoever was trying to make them "component" was not using the symbol builder properly?

If you know what you're doing, you don't have to use the symbol builder.

If you want to wblock something to a symbol, you must explore it first. This is just how AutoCAD works. An item you insert isn't "converted" to a block until it has been inserted.

Hi there, 

Another issue i have is the retagging of the components that i put inside. Originally, i had a ladder starting from 1000 on top with increment of 1, but then i had to revise my ladder by an increment of 10. The ladder gets updated, but the component re-tagging sticks to the old numbers and appears that they still capture the old ladder number rathen than the new ones. For example, i have a circuit breaker that should re-tag to CB1065 as opposed to CB1007A. Could you please advise on this.
