Project Manager Missing

I have a user who no longer has use of his project manager. When the user clicks on Project Manager this is the message the user gets:

"Command: Unknown command "ACENAV". Press F1 for help"

Please help. I have had a tough time fixing it.

When you start up Electrical, do you possibly get
an error at the command line?  Something about not being able to load
AcePageMan.arx?

Mike

Within the command line this is the error I get with AcePageMan.arx

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2008\Acade\AcePageMan.arx is an invalid ARX
file."

Sounds like somehow the file has become
corrupt.  If you have another computer that is working and is
using the same OS and AutoCAD Electrical Service Pack as this one, you can
try renaming this file on the computer that is having the problem and copying
the file from the computer that is working, to the this location.

Mike

You have not stated this directly, but based on
your posts it appears that you are using AutoCAD Electrical 2008.  If you
are, then I have something for you to try.  To make sure there are not any
remnants after the uninstall, you might try a clean reinstallation.  You
can find the steps to do this in the following Knowledge Base
posting:

Also I am wondering, did you install any new
software on these computers around the time that this started happening?
This kind of issue is rare and to see it suddenly happen on
multiple computers like this makes me think this isn't just a corrupt
file.

Regards,

Mike

Thank you Mike for all your responses.

Yes, I am running AutoCAD Electrical 2008. Have tried to remove the problem completely used the KB file. No luck. I have looked at possible software conflicts and have concluded there is none. The only thing I can think of since we push windows updated down, I am wondering if that is causing the problems. Do you know of any windows updates that could affect AutoCAD Electrical 2008?

Thanks again for your time.

I don't know of any Windows updates that would
cause this.  What version and service pack of Windows is on these two
computers that have the problem?

Thanks,

Mike

I have another question and something else for you
to try.  Is the AcePageMan.arx the only one that you are getting any error
messages for at startup?  You might try loading it after Electrical starts
up, by using one of the following methods below (if one doesn't work, you might
try the other one):

  1. Using APPLOAD

    1. Type APPLOAD at the command line and hit
      Enter

    2. In the Appload dialog, browse to the
      AcePageMan.arx file and load it.

  2. Using ARX command

    1. Type ARX at the command line and hit
      Enter

    2. Type L for load and browse to the AcePageMan.arx
      file to load it.

By default, the AcePageMan.arx file is found
here:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade
2008\Acade

If neither of these works, please let me know what
the error messages are.

Thanks,

Mike

All of those files are not in the location it is looking for. This is from a clean install.

So are those files found anywhere, or are they just
not found on the drive at all?
