Problem with AutoCAD Electrical Startup and Accessing Project Database

I have been working on an AutoCAD Electrical project for the last few weeks, and it has been working totally fine. This morning when I tried to open it, I got a screen (see the first attachment) for several minutes, before I got the FATAL ERROR message (second attachment).

I opened Task Manager, and it looks like something is going on with the first line item (third attachment), because when I end the task, it seems to exit the weird screen from the first attachment, but then it shows that the software cannot reach the project database, and none of the functions related to the project work properly, and I get a message in the command line that says "Problem opening database file or doesn't exist, filename= %11".

After this error, I deleted the project database and ran the AEREBUILDDB command, but it did not seem to do anything, as the command was done almost immediately, with no waiting time. I still cannot use any commands related to the project database.

Any help or pointers would be very helpful!

There appears to be a conflict with Rockwell Connected Components Workbench if you have that installed as well. We are assessing the new version of this software to see if it corrects the issue.

I don't have that software installed, but I do have several other Rockwell software packages installed. I will poke around some more.

Possible that some other software you have installed uses the Access BD Engine

Hi just to be clear on this...

to resolve the problem I need to run "Uninstall or change a program" the Microsoft access database enging 2016 right?

If you do not have the option to "Repair" then you probably need to re-install.

Update: I found the root cause of the problem, and it was the Access Database Engine. The repair function worked intermittently, did not solve the problem. The root cause was that the Access engine was a 32-bit version, when it was expecting a 64-bit version. Once I installed the 64-bit version, it started working properly and hasn't given me an issue since.

Autocad Electrical uses the 64 bit version but you might find that you have other software installed that uses the 32 bit version.  This was my case with Rockwell software.  I am now running both 32 and 64 bit.

you require microsoft access database engine

as per the other thread, if not in the list for uninstall or change a program, it is not installed

to find which version you need

open microsoft access

account

Hi James,

ok I have installed the software and that  helped a lot with the startup of ACADE but surfing on components and stuff like that does not work for some reason. I deleted the scratchdatabase of the project I´m experimenting with and when starting ACADE it creates a new mdb file for the project but that does not solve the problem.

Any ideas of why this is happening?

The scratch database will be created if not present, the behaviour is normal, deleting it is a way of resetting when acad has it's knickers in a twist. It's a standard suggestion but not sure it will solve this.

If your startup issue is now fixed, I recommend starting a new thread for the surfer issue. The two things might not be related and your mention of the surfer thing is buried pretty deep in this one. It may not be seen by many people.

Bringing this topic back up. I have tried all the options above and it still occurs. 

I also get a fatal error on startup saying:
Unable to load modeler DLLs

Anyone find a fix for this?

Reinstalling Microsoft database was the solution for me.

I have tried that and still have the same issue.

We have done a complete re-install of AutoCAD and the same issue persists.

If we restart the computer, it works for a little bit but then the issue pops backup of "Problem opening database file or doesn't exist, filename= %11"

The issue of the DLL persists as well.

We can't get the terminal strip editor to open. We get the error message
Problem opening database file or doesn't exist, filename= %11

When we try to do source and reference arrows, it is not finding any sources in the project. The page is blank.

When trying to insert a component through the Schematic List, it brings up the error message:
"No schematic data found"

Other users can open the same project with no issues.

We have done a re-install of AutoCAD on the system and the issue persists.
