have been trying to find some standard that says that an overload n.c. contact
MUST be on the L2 side of a contactor coil, but I am getting conflicting
answers and examples. It is typically placed on the L2 side, but I have found
examples of it on L1 side as well. I cannot find anything telling me why it
should be placed on any particular side. My reason for bringing this up is
because the contactor coil symbol provided by ACADE does not allow enough room
to the right of the symbol to place the contact in the wire. The coil's
attributes are in the way, but I don't want to revise the block because some
of our smaller motor units do not use an overload. Does anyone know of any
standard that specifies the location of the overload contact, or does it
matter which side of the coil it is on? If the overload contact must be on the
L2 side of the coil, shouldn't the motor contactor coil symbols attributes be
placed farther away from the symbol so that it can be inserted in the correct
place without having to move them after insertion?
