Form-C contacts default and reverse

Good day all,

We are very happy with using ACADE for our railway interlocking system schematics, but so far we are creating new blocks and dynamic drawings between parrent coils and child contacts some troubles occour.

In base we have pinlist 3,11,12,13;3,21,22,23; ......... so no voltage on coil means NO is 11-12 and NC is 11-13.....

In our schematic logic is very common that if we have arrow (in our case in Description2 attribute) under parrent coil there is voltage on coil and we sign NO like 11-13 and NC 11-12 with arrow under contacts too.

I know this style of drawing electrical schematics is non-standard, but this is historicaly defined in our case.

Is it possible to make some script or advanced settings to reach this automatically: "If arrow symbol in Description2 in parrent then increase Pin2 +1 in all NO child contacts, decrease Pin2 -1 in all NC child contacts and so in 3 terms NONC contacts too" It means still NO and NC contacts but visible value is +1 or -1.

And yet one question. I have NONC contact (Form-C) with 3 Terms. What number will be on fifth character in symbol naming for NONC? NO is 1 and NC is 2 but 3 terms NONC definition is what number?

Thank you for answer.

Form-C contact symbol blocks are named HCR23 or VCR23. Symbols for these already exist in the IEC and NFPA library folders.

The number is 3.

And yes, I guess it would be possible to update whatever according to some rules you set.

Use the Catalog Browser to edit the record for the part number of the relay. Look out to the right of the row for two fields, one for Coil Pins and the other for the Pin List. Click in the cell to get the menu for assigning pins, or you can type in - (i.e. 3,Common,NO,NC)

Doug, thx for your answers. My last question is clear now. But what about the previous problem:

Is it possible to make some script or advanced settings to reach this automatically: "If arrow symbol in Description2 in parrent then increase Pin2 +1 in all NO child contacts, decrease Pin2 -1 in all NC child contacts and so in 3 terms NONC contacts too" It means still NO and NC contacts but visible value is +1 or -1.

There is no built-in function for handling your request. There are options under Drawing Properties to show unused contacts, in case a 4PDT has extra contacts available.

Can you supply some more information? Maybe a picture or two of what you have before and what you want after a macro has run?

Yes I will post pictures tommorow....

Now I have another problem with pop-up: Alert - pin aasignment repeated.

When I copy child contact symbol HCR21 or HCR22 and place with same pins - Alert shows - its OK.

But when I copy child contact symbol HCR23 and place with same pins - no Alert shows.

Its very useful Alert but I dont know why it doesnt work for NONC contacts...

PS: What is differrent when I use attribute NONC or NCNO in symbol editor? There is NO, NC and NONC choice in default but concretely symbol HCR23 has attribute NCNO.

THX for your answers...

There may be an easy way to do what you are after...

Edit the catalogue and copy the entire entry. Now modify the copy by changing the PIN LIST to show as if the coil is powered along with adding a ' POWERED' or similar to the catalogue number and stating the coil is shown powered in the description.

Now when you the catalogue number for the relay, you select the powered or unpowered version and the contacts should come in correctly without messing around with scripts, post processing or anything else like that.

Thank you, this is the way using catalogue with another pin list row. But its not so clear because there is two same component in catalogue anyway.

If anyone have Idea about some script, it would be fine 🙂

This can be programmed, but unfortunately, I don't have time to do a freebie for a while.

Thank you,

I know its advanced issue and I agree with you 🙂

However is ther any chance to study this issue..any websites with autocad scripting?

I tried the solution by Icemanau with UNPOWERED and POWERED pin lists.

Everything looks good, pins are distributed exactly from wanted pin list, but if I decide to change between unpowered and powered catalogue device, the Alert appears:

Figure2.png

It is very unpracticle surf every child contact and change their pins 😞

Do I something wrong? Or can be there other solution to reach this effectively?

Many thanks

No, you did nothing wrong and there is nothing that can be done about the warning.

It comes up whenever you change the catalogue selection and is normal for ACADE.

As for surfing to find each contact, I posted this idea a while back about the Pin List...

Rhesusminus...for awhile or forever? 😄

Is there any chance to discuss the solution with you? What would break a freebie in your case?
