Cooridinates conversion

I have some old 2D drawings that are in the Z - X Coordinates.  I would like to convert the z coordinates over to y coordinates so I can work in the Y-X coordinates.

Are you sure that the drawings are in that coordinate system? If you reset the USC to WCS, by typing this on the command line:

UCS
World
Plan
Current

Does that fix the problem?

If not, you'll have to use the ROTATE3D command, to rotate everything to the correct orientation.

I am not sure that I am asking the correct question.

Here is what it looks like using the Y-X Coordinates

[cid:image001.png@01D27C71.AAE10CF0]

I change the following

[cid:image002.png@01D27C71.AAE10CF0]

To look like this

[cid:image003.png@01D27C71.EEE528F0]

I can work in my drawings but they are in the Z-X coordinates

[cid:image004.png@01D27C71.EEE528F0]

I would like to work in the Y-X. Would like to convert everything in Z to Y.

Did I ask the correct question in the first place? Can this be done?

The images didn't come through.
Are you able to share an example file here, and I'll take a look?

Here is a sample drawing.  You will see that everything is drawn using the Z-X Coordinates.

Accepted solution

Here's a short screencast showing how to ROTATE3D the schamatic back to the XY-plane.

The steps are:

  1. Move the lower left corner of the frame to 0,0,0
  2. Roatete everything around 0,0,0
