when i click a component my ACADE used to show the component dialog popup, now it doesn't(just the basic properties). If i go to the toolbar edit and click the item it just shows correctly. my Filedia =1 , ive tried resetting auto cad to default but no help.

anybody have any clues on how to restore this functionality ?

Thanks

Hi there,

It is probably a simple setting but if you do not have a custom environment you could just use the reset tool.  It will put ACE back to it's out of the box install config which is OK if and only if you do not have a lot of custom tools, toolbars, profiles set.

Good luck

Since you've already tried resetting to defaults, can we have a little more info?

What ACADE version?
Left or right click? Single or double?
Are these schematic symbols, or footprints?

If it's the radial marking menu you're taking about, that is controlled by the sysvar AEMM (0 is 'off', 1,2, and 3 are various versions of 'on'). Also, time-sensitive right click can have an adverse effect on ACADE popups, so if you've maybe made some changes in OPTIONS that could be a place to check.

I'm sorry I do not mean to be a pest.  Have you tried toggling you FILEDIA tool?  I had an issue with UNDO.  It stopped working.  The variable was set = 1 but to get it working I and to turn it off = disable then turn it back on.  For whatever reason, that got it working again.  Good luck

your not being a pest your trying to help.

Yes i tried setting the FileDia = 0 and then back that didn't help.

I just got it fixed although i don't know exactly what was broke - but just reinstalled and the problem is now fixed.

by the way tried a repair and that did not work.

Thanks for your help.

Hi.

Most likely, the dialog was just "off screen". It happens a lot, especially when using a laptop with multiple monitors.

If this happens again, first try to press "ESC" to see if AcadE continues to work. If so, it's a good indication that the dialog is off screen.

To get the dialog back on the screen, open the "invisible dialog", and press ALT + SPACE and M. Then use the arrow keys to move the dialog back onto the screen.
